Don't take no shortcuts

Wow, I knew this already but I've had a reminder lately that it takes a long time to write a novel.

It's sometimes really weird to me that I'll get all excited and start making really good progress writing everyday and then look at what still needs to be done and I think,
"Wow. This is gonna take forever."

I mentioned that to my fabulous friend Tamara once and her answer... "Yeah. it does."

Well okay then.

Buckle up cause were in this for the long haul :)

The more you write, the faster yo will become.

Haha! I still remember it :) that says something to me!

Sometimes it's the simplest things that cut through the junk and show us the real story. Also... the truth hurts and you were definitely not looking to comfort the poor, new, floundering, author :)
Thanks for that.

Write every day. Even if you only write for ten minutes. That is better than nothing. Don't wait for huge blocks of time to write. Write when you don't want to. Scribble on the page. Just make time for it and it will get easier.

By the way, I'm a complete hypocrite and I don't do this. For the sake of honesty I thought you should know that :)
